If immortality was sustainable, we'd already have immortal beings. Since we don't, maybe we could explicitly accept this idea and translate this principle organically into the design of products, systems, businesses and behaviors. It would probably help us reduce our overall level of self inflicted stress. Planned obsolescence may not be that bad, if it is addressed organically.

Design is a service.

A clever and beautiful service will most likely motivate others to learn and replicate or apply its principles to their own projects.

That is why, maybe, regardless the quality of the service provided, any designed action transmits its founding principles. And this is what persons retain in their minds and apply to answer their own questions.
